Fear Factory have been in the studio and they're now readying their ninth studio album, Genexus. The disc has been slotted in for an Aug. 7 street date via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

For the album, the band's own Dino Cazares and Burton C. Bell co-produced the effort with longtime collaborator Rhys Fulber. In a press release, Cazares says, "The sensation of finalizing our newest album is one of relief and joy, wrapped within a massive whirlwind of excitement."

He adds, "We really feel this is a very special Fear Factory album. While being careful not to replicate ourselves, this album still has a very classic Fear Factory vibe that we fell will appease both old and new fans. The aggressive, melodic and industrial elements are all intact and shine more than ever."

The guitarist calls the disc a "cyber metal" offering with "a lot of the killer riffs, killer double bass and Burt's beautiful, melodic vocals." He adds, "Conceptually, it's always still futuristic, man-versus-machine type of thing, but, you know, we thought we're gonna keep it real, keep it what we are and who we are."

Fear Factory recently made a lineup change, welcoming Static-X and Soulfly bassist Tony Campos to the band. He replaced Matt DeVries. The group's current lineup is rounded out by drummer Mike Heller. Click below for their 2015 tour dates with Coal Chamber.
