“Blood For The Master” is the new album from Goatwhore and it is such a killer album from the band. I have had the opportunity to talk to lead singer Ben Falgoust a few times and what always is surprising is how he relates to all the fans that come to support Goatwhore. When you see him on stage his power and aggression are amazing. And then after the show he is laughing and cutting up with his fans.

Dark Tranquillity have been on a constant tour in support of their latest album. The band will plan on taking a break from touring later this year to focus on writing new material.

Lemmy: No, no. We hardly ever see Megadeth anyway. They come late and we leave early after we finish to beat the traffic out of there. So we don’t see much of them. I’ve stayed a couple of times to watch their show, but that’s about all.

The Devil Wears Prada have just announced that they have decided to part ways with keyboardist James Baney. Since the announcement was made public earlier today (Feb. 22), TDWP fans have have shown their support for both the band and Baney in an outpouring on the group’s Facebook page.

The Devil Wears Prada posted the following message on their official Facebook page addressing the departure of their former keyboardist:

With great deliberation and difficulty, we have decided to part ways with our keyboardist James Baney. James will always be family to TDWP, being one of the most well-intentioned people we know. Our prayers to James in beginning a new chapter with his wife back home, and our endless gratitude to TDWP fans for understanding. We’ll see you at a show soon.

The loss of James Baney has not thrown off the Devil Wears Prada’s plans regarding their upcoming tour. The Devil Wears Prada’s headlining ‘Dead Throne’ tour will be kicking off on March 9 in Bloomington, Ill., with support acts Every Time I Die, letlive and Oh, Sleeper.

We have spanned genres and time to come up with 10 characters that you may like to hear sung about, but wouldn’t want to be caught alone with in a dark alley.

10. Big Jack

When it comes to AC/DC, they are all about the party.  ‘Big Jack’ is a song about a guy who likes to party hard, and fight even harder.  Basically, you don’t want to mess with Big Jack, but if you’re on his good side, he’ll totally get your back.

9.  Quinn The Eskimo

‘You’ve not seen nothing like the Mighty Quinn.’ Written by Bob Dylan, and made famous by the boys in Manfred Mann,  some say it was based on a nursery rhyme and others an iconic role played by Anthony Quinn. Either way Quinn is one kick butt Eskimo.

8.  Superbeast

Rob Zombie is big into monsters and other scary things, and while we aren’t exactly sure what the ‘Superbeast’ is, we know that it’s something that you don’t want to be on the wrong side of.  if it’s anything like the music video suggests, than it’s a hot motorcycle riding chick who uses swords to kick some ass.

7. Tom Sawyer

It’s Rush’s iconic anthem to Mark Twain’s character of the same name.  Tom Sawyer is basically about a guy who won’t bend to society’s wants and needs and does what he wants.  A nonconformist if you will.  Neil Pert describes him has modern day rebel with a purpose.  Sounds good to us.

6. Johnny

An epic battle between man and the devil in ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia.’  You can’t help but love once Johnny brings the devil down to his knees.  Hands down the most bad ass song to ever feature a fiddle.

5.  Slim Shady

Marshall Mathers is real and Slim Shady is a persona but we just aren’t sure where one begins and the other ends.  Sure Eminem is a person, but when he is writing his songs it’s a total character, and amplified version of himself.  So basically, we wouldn’t want to be alone with Eminem, Marshall Mathers, Slim Shady, or whatever character he cooks up in his mind.

4. Joe

Hey, Joe. What’s with the gun? Bottom line, don’t cheat with Joe’s wife because he will kill you and her.  One of Jimi Hendrixs‘ best songs.  You think that maybe the guy in the song may talk him out of it, but no, Joe is one determined man.

3. Leroy Brown

A warning tale from Jim Croce.  If you ever happen to be in or around Chicago, watch out for Leroy Brown.  Basically Leroy is a bully, but when it came down to it, a man defending his lady was able to beat ole’ Leroy.  Kuddos for sticking up for your lady mystery jealous guy.

2. Sue

There is only a couple reasons that you would name your son Sue.  You either really want to humiliate him for life, or make him tough.  The Sue we all know from the Johnny Cash song  ‘A Boy Named Sue’ (written by Shel Silverstein — yes, THAT Shel Silverstein) grew up fast and tough.  The guy even fights his dad in the song.  We are happy to report that the two of them are still getting along, despite being named Sue.

1. Iron Man

If you actually listen to the lyrics, this is a very tragic song.  Turns out though, if people had only listened to Iron Man by Black Sabbath, he wouldn’t have destroyed the planet.  Since he basically caused the apocalypse, he is hands down the most bad ass character in all of music.

Back in the day, one of the biggest staples of the mall and movie theater arcades was the face smashing, button masher ‘Wrestlefest.’. Now it’s back on the iPhone and the iPad.

THQ has revived the classic square circle pixel-fest that not only includes some of the biggest and brightest names from World Wrestling Entertainment’s not-so-humble beginnings but also their newest superstars. It includes 30 current and former WWE superstars like John Cena, The Rock, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts and ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage.

The app also offers several modes of beating your opponent’s face into the mat including a one-on-one throw-down, tag team matches, steel cage showdowns and even a Royal Rumble free-for-all. Players can also set their matches in one of four unique arenas including the Raw, SmackDown, WrestleMania and ‘Saturday Night’s Main Event’ settings.

Right now, it’s only available on Apple’s App Store but THQ has plans to expand the franchise to the XBox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network, the Android Market and the home PC sometime later year. Future updates will also include additional playable characters including CM Punk, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Big Boss Man.

Frankly, we would rather be able to play with the WWE Divas.

Soulfly / Cavalera Conspiracy frontman Max Cavalera has been diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, a temporary condition that results in the inability to control facial muscles. Cavalera was rushed to the hospital shortly after his return from Australia last week, frightened that he was having a stroke.

Bell’s Palsy is caused by a dysfunction of the cranial nerve VII (the facial nerve). After consulting a doctor, Cavalera was put on a course of antibiotics and is improving greatly — expected to make a full recovery. Cavalera took a moment to thank fans for their concern and well wishes — reassuring his supporters that he is in good health.

“I woke up one morning after coming home from Australia and the whole room was spinning,” recounts Cavalera. “I looked at Gloria and said, ‘There’s something wrong here.’ She said, ‘Your face looks weird.’ I went to the mirror and couldn’t move half of my face. We thought I was having a stroke, so we rushed to the hospital.”

Cavalera continued, “I learned my condition was called Bell’s Palsy but I’d never heard of that. It’s a f—ing weird disease. My right eye won’t blink, and half of my face feels like I’ve been punched by Mike Tyson! It hurts like hell. Anyway, I am leaving for Brazil tomorrow. The show must go on and this Bell’s Palsy ain’t gonna stop a metalhead from his duties. I hope I’ll be ok and thanks to all the fans concerned with me. Stay Metal.”

Soulfly are set to release their eighth studio album ‘Enslaved’ on March 13. They are gearing up to kick off a U.S. tour with Five Finger Death Punch in late March.

After taking a couple months to recharge their batteries after their successful fall tour in support of their latest album, the boys in Chickenfoot have lined up a new string of dates that will see them rocking cities across the United States throughout May and June.

Dubbed the ‘Different Devil Tour’ in honor of the album’s second single, the band’s next run of shows kicks off May 4 in Lake Tahoe and will pack in 20 concerts before concluding June 10 in Los Angeles. “The Foot are road tested and ready to roll and can’t wait to play the new songs for the fans!” shouted singer Sammy Hagar in a press release announcing the tour.

Chickenfoot’s fall outing, dubbed the ‘Road Test Tour,’ featured stops in small clubs and earned rave reviews along the way. Of course, this time they’ll be competing with Van Halen — whose 2012 tour will find them playing L.A. the night before Chickenfoot arrives in town — but we think there’s plenty of room for both acts to shine. Everyone attending the meet-n-greet Monday (2-20-12) at the Lone Star Oyster Bar had the entire evening to eat, drink and meet the bands. This new tour has everyone pumped and ready to explode on stage tonight. We had so much fun that I ended up buying the latest Saliva and Siva Addiction cds just to get them signed.

On the way home, I listened to the Siva cd “Bad Decisions” and was blown away by how good it was.  I had to take the long way home… twice, because I did not want it to end!  This morning I listened to Saliva’s “Under Your Skin” and was just as impressed.  There is no doubt that tonight’s show will be kickin’ it and will be the talk of the town tomorrow.  We all know Saliva and I recommend Siva to all rockers… just check out the lead singer…

Saliva, with new front man Bobby Amaru, will return to the Hub City tonight, Tuesday February 21st at Wreckers. This will be the first appearance, and tour, with their new lead singer.

Joining Saliva will be Oklahoma City rockers, Siva Addiction along with Arkansas natives Fallen Within. Tickets for the show will be $15 and will be sold at the door starting at 7pm tonight.
