Lubbock’s Original Downtown Farmer’s Market Announces 2024 Open Date
Lubbock Downtown Farmer's Market has announced its dates for the 2024 season. The market has been a lovely addition to the Lubbock community since its inception in 2014.
The market will be held every Saturday from May 25th through October 19th. The market hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Originally held in the Depot District, the Lubbock Downtown Farmer's Market moved to LHUCA Plaza (5th Street & Ave. J.) which provides market vendors and attendees more shade, permanent bathroom facilities, seating, and a gorgeous, artful vibe.
Vendors for the 2024 season have not yet been announced, but you can expect examples of the best produce and artisan goods the Lubbock and surrounding area has to offer.
Last year I enjoyed picking up bottles of area wine, as the Caprock provides ideal growing conditions for wine grapes. I've also picked up farm fresh meat, as we are surrounded by ranches inhabited by superior cattle breeds. Neighboring fruit orchards are home to bees that make fantastic local honey, and a local grower curated beautiful bouquets with their farm-grown blooms.
In addition to delicious farm-grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs, you can also expect baked goods, arts and crafts, and booth after booth of fun and exciting goods.
Local farmer's markets are a wonderful way to support area farmers and artisans, all while getting the absolute freshest produce, meats, eggs, live plants, and flowers available. Did I mention the wine? I enjoyed the wine.
