There's a familiar criticism about Coach Kliff Kingsbury, that if I've seen once, I've seen a hundred times. It goes like this, "he'd rather be friends with the players than be their coach".

I find it amazing that people who have no clue what our coach does day to day can make such judgements. They see a viral video or a couple news clips and make these grand assumptions about how the coach approaches his job. They haven't been to a practice, seen any real evidence or walked a mile in the guys shoes.

There are many things that go into being a college coach and being media friendly is certainly part of the job. I also don't see where being a complete asshole to players helps either. There is a formula that we haven't found just yet, but hopefully will someday.  I still believe our biggest problem now, and in the future is that top recruits are not going to want to come to a small conservative town in the middle of nowhere. These kids are young and we're just not going to beat the bright lights (and accessibility for families) of the big cities.

So when I hear someone saying "he'd rather be friends with the players than their coach", I know their just spouting ignorance, and repeating some nonsense that someone else said. There's no proof of "bro-ism", there's no lack of leadership and there's no reason to call Coach Kingsbury, "Coach Bro".
