It's great to work for a station with such a great history.  One of my fondest moments was having John and Tony of The Outfield in our studio performing live.  It was such a fond memory that Heathen and I were actually talking about it yesterday. Now comes news that John Spinks, guitarist and co-songwriter for the band has passed away.

John passed away today at age 60 of liver cancer. Apparently it was something that he'd been fighting for a long time.

I realize that a band like "The Outfield" is far removed from what we do now, but they were a big part of our history and we have John to partially thank for the panty-dropper of a song  "Your Love" (seriously, this is one of those songs that STILL makes the MILFs go crazy).  It seems like the song has been used in countless movies and is always brought up as one of the definitive songs of the 80's. Thanks for the good times John and thanks for telling those 80's ladies how we felt about them in a great song.

John is the guy playing the red guitar in the video.
