Lubbock Kids Can Cool Off With Cheap Summer Movies

Starting this Wednesday, you can start the kid's summer off with movies at a nice, cool theater.

Cinemark is hosting "Summer Movie Clubhouse" featuring some early matinees for cheap. Tickets to the movies are only a buck fifty for the featured fare.

Things get kicked off this week Wednesday with "Minions: The Rise Of Gru". Next Wednesday it's "Sonic The Hedgehog" and the following Wednesdays will have "Mummies", "The Bad Guys", "Paws Of Fury: The Legend Of Hank", "DC League Of Super-Pets", "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile" and the season closes out with "Puss In Boots: The Last Wish".

It appears that only the Cinemark Southwest location will be hosting the flicks, and all movies start at 9:30 a.m. It looks like they'll also be giving you a break on the concessions with several dollar-off deals to take advantage of.

Meanwhile, Premiere Cinemas is offering FREE Summer Movies on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. This week it's "Bad Guys", followed by "Minions: Rise Of Gru", "Paws Of Fury", "Sonic The Hedgehog 2 ", "Lyle, Lyle Crocodile" and "Puss In Boots: The Last Wish" (Premiere actually started this promotion two weeks ago).

This coming Wednesday the high is projected to be 103 degrees, and next Wednesday is projected to be 102. So whether it's a free movie or a practically free movie, starting the day in a cool theater may be the best way to go. I can tell you, as a former kid, that this is exactly the kind of thing that will make for one of the best summers ever.
