The Real Reasons Politicians Freaked Out Over Arabic Banner

How embarrassing is it that the same politicians that promise to save us from the boogeymen out there (ISIS, illegal immigrants, whatever helps get them elected) can't protect a building under renovations in downtown Lubbock?

My fellow Lubbockites, you are being taken from a ride.

While your fellow citizens are being shot at church and stabbed in their homes, politicians promise they're going to protect you from people a half a world away. But it's just a campaign of scary buzzwords and boogeymen to distract you while your hometown starts circling the drain.

The minute I heard of the banner with the heart and Arabic writing on it, I knew exactly what it was: A prank and a slight political statement. It wasn't none of that GEE-HAWD that the rubes around here think is coming for them.
