Oh boy we were a motley looking group. Tattooed knuckleheads from across the Hub gathered to raise money for a little known cause called Spinal Muscular Atrophy.  The disease is a killer and these fine folks gathered together to bring awareness and raise funds for the cause at the "Let's Do It For Ellie" show.

The event include live music, live auctions and a silent auction. If you wanted to know how big everybody's heart was, then you had to look no further than the raffles.  Practically everybody who won something during the raffles turned around immediately and re-auctioned the items to raise money on them a SECOND time. In case the headline didn't register with you, this little event raised over seven thousand dollars!

The music was awesome and I was able to check out some really great bands for a first time and see my favorites again. I encourage you to get out and see The Goners, The Roger Box, Scotty No, Sugarwitch and Johnny Hangunn.  Their music is just as great as their giving spirits.

I also can't say enough about Bash Riprock's for hosting this event.  The place has long been a Texas Tech favorite and is just as welcoming and fun for non-students as well.

We would also especially like to thank the lovely Marcie Via for spearheading this event and allowing us to be a part of it.
