In an article on gay marriage, Trinity Pastor Carl Toti is quoted as saying "Homosexuality will never acceptable in the eyes of our creator." I certainly respect this pastor for all he has done for this community and his flock, but I'd like to see the passage in the bible that says that.

It doesn't take much to research the Bible. If you are referring to one of the 76 things banned by Leviticus, then we have bigger problems here.

Women shouldn't go to church for 33 days after giving birth to a boy or 66 days after a girl, it says. You also shouldn't plow your field all the way to the edges. You shouldn't fail to include salt in your offerings to God. You should not trim your beard, mix fabrics or get tattoos.

Now, all of that (and a bit more) is Old Testament nonsense. As for the New Testament, Jesus spoke on "sexual immorality," but never directly on homosexuality. So Christians can either choose to live under the laws of Leviticus (i.e. don't eat grapes that have fallen off the vines), or they can spread love -- not judgment -- as Jesus was said to have done.

Lastly, if your church wants to help shape the laws of the land, pay taxes. No one should get a free ride if they want to be politically considered. Thankfully, my constitution trumps the Bible when it comes to how people in America are treated, and all should be treated equally.

The RockShow had a bit prepared on air about this controversy. Listen to it here:
