Neko Squared Maid Cafe and Escape Room Is Coming to Hub City Comic Con
I'm the first to admit how much I love anime and manga, and the opportunity to experience live events in that vein is really exciting. Neko Squared is bringing two distinct flavors of Japanese idol culture fun to Hub City Comic Con.
The first event sounds absolutely adorable:
Neko Neko Maid and Host Cafe is an exciting maid and host cafe based off of idol cafes in Akihabara, Japan! From the moment you enter the door, an adorable maid will be ready to show you to your table where you can get to know your own beautiful maid or host and the other con-goers! Play fun games with your maid or host and even earn prizes! Participate in an epic game of jan-ken-pyon (Rock, paper, scissors!) Enjoy song and dance performance of popular anime and J-pop songs performed by our own lovely maids and hosts!
If you're a fan of horror manga (personally, I'm very obsessed with Danganronpa), the escape room might be more your speed:
Yandere Escape™ is a thrilling escape room experience with a yandere twist! Your group are Japanese Idols headed to a photoshoot, when everything goes wrong! You awake in a dark basement owned by your most obsessive and psychotic fan. Will you be able to win her twisted game and escape to freedom or will you be hers forever?
Hub City Comic Con happens August 24-26, 2018. Neko Squared are ticketed events. Both the Maid cafe and escape room will run Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets and more are available at the Hub City Comic Con website.
Neko Squared Maid Cafe and Escape Room is the fifth celebrity guest/special event we've announced for this year's Hub City Comic Con.
First, it was Overwatch voice actor Carolina Ravassa. Then, we let y'all know the Red Power Ranger, Steve Cardenas, would be coming to Lubbock. Next, we broke the news that legendary wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T will be at the show. And most recently, we announced Take One Improv would be bringing the funny to the con.
