Think of the title Pride and Prejudice, close your eyes, and summon all the imagery you can. I see hedgerows and stately English manors. I smell petrichor and freshness rising from a perfectly maintained garden. I hear stuffy, awkward conversations between young Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.

What I don’t see, smell or smell is blood, guts and the cries of the undead as they descend on unwitting English aristocracy.

Next February, however, you can.

Lionsgate recently wrapped up post-production of Pride Prejudice and Zombies, a unique retelling of Jane Austen’s classic novel.

The concept originally hit the shelves in book form back in 2009 from Author Seth Grahame-Smith who shares a joint credit with Austen.

Be sure to check out the trailer above. The film looks to be a mix of equal parts Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (I still can’t believe this made it off of a script and onto celluloid) and the Robert Rodriguez’s classic, From Dusk Till Dawn.
