Last weekend, Texas Tech surrendered a big game in Fayetteville during overtime. This week, the Red Raiders found a way to force OT then secure their third Big 12 win after a 63-61 victory.

It's hard to sugarcoat; Tech was just plain awful in the first half. The Red Raiders couldn't throw it in the ocean and just seemed flat during the first 20 minutes. The Cowboys weren't much better, but held a seven-point lead going into the break at 31-23.

Jawun Evans, the 'Pokes freshman star, ended up nursing a familiar injury in the second half, which alleviated some pressure from the Red Raiders. Leyton Hammonds stepped up and logged 14 for OSU, as Jeff Newberry added 13.

On the home side, Aaron Ross had his biggest game yet as a Red Raider. The junior hit four three's and wound up with 22 points and seven rebounds. Then, senior Toddrick Gotcher made his presence felt as #20 also hit three huge three's during the latter half of regulation. He then hit another triple in overtime, his third tying three of the game.

Devaungtah Williams, who missed the would-be game winner against Arkansas at the buzzer Saturday, had some redemption as he somehow managed to throw up a layup over three much bigger Cowboy defenders. It was Williams' only true field goal of the contest.

Saturday, the Red Raiders will be in Austin for an early afternoon showdown against the Longhorns.
