The past 24 months have been pretty bleak for the Texas Tech Red Raiders on the basketball side of things. Tonight might just be the spark needed to ignite the fire under the Red Raiders Men's team.

Make no mistake, I'm not taking away anything from the Women's team here, who won a big conference showdown in Morgantown against West Virginia last night. The ladies are having a great 15-4 season thus far.

Tonight, however, is huge for the Men's team, who fought hard for its ninth win of the season. With a score of 56 to 51, Iowa State couldn't pull out the shots needed to win the game. Josh Gray had a career night scoring 16 for the Raiders, as Senior Will Clyburn for the Iowa State had the best night for the Cyclones with 12 points.

Time will tell what happens to the re-energized Tech team, and it's a tough road ahead, with a game in Austin on Saturday then a match-up against West Virginia here in Lubbock on February 2.

Get on out to the United Spirit Arena and support both the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders this year, they can use all the support they can get.
