Texas Tech Stripe Out Should Have Been Thrown Out

I am team Kingsbury. In my book, Kliff is the best thing to ever happen to Texas Tech. It may take a while for the team to get it's wheels under it, but Kliff is going to keep it hip and exciting until they get there.  Let me say that again, I am team Kliff.

We've had white out the Jones, black out the Jones and from the incredibly creative minds at Texas Tech comes a new version of "stripe out the Jones".  I guess "polka-dot the Jones" and "paisley up the Jones" are next.  First off, the idea behind "whiting out" and "blacking out" is to show the visitors the overwhelming team support.  I think that get's lost when you start "striping up" the place. It just seems kooky and not intimidating.

The problem is, this kind of frivolity gives the boo-birds ammo. Sure, the best thing to do with trolls is ignore them, but this is troll-bait. It "confirms" and cements the idea in their minds that Texas Tech has it's priorities skewed.  It's also asking a lot of fans who are already having to defend their team at every turn.

I hope everyone will support Texas Tech no matter what. I also hope the promotional folks at Tech will figure out that there is a time and place for everything and this is not the time or place for this goofiness.
