As a matter of fact, it's the "The Third Annual Chrissy And Wes Christmas For The Kitties And K-9s Presents The Lubbock Laugh-Off" (We tried, but we couldn't come up with a longer name).

Let's get into some history here. The Lubbock Laugh Off had a run over almost thirty shows that were all standing-room only. The event was developed and started at the Freaky Tiki Tavern on Texas Avenue then moved to the World Of Beer. Now we're moving it to the home of our annual comedy event, Jake's Backroom. We feel like Jake's sound system is up to the task of getting these comedians heard.

The format of the Lubbock Laugh-Off is pretty simple, as it pulls from three comedy disciplines. Each comedian will have five minutes of straight stand-up, then we'll subject the comedians to some improv questions and we'll close with the legendary Laugh-Off Roast.

Right before we launch into the roast, we'll have a headline set by Lubbock comedy pro, "Ranney". Ranney absolutely killed it as a headliner last year so we invited him back for an encore performance.

Competitors include J.J. Howell, Sweat Chuckles, Derek Coleman, Tori Forney, Curtis Hinds, and Redd Giles.

The event will happen on December 16th with a $15 cover. Table seating will be available while it lasts. The event will benefit our favorite no-kill animal shelter (who we don't name so nobody gets mad at them if one of the comedians says something off-color and they always say something off-color.

The event will be hosted by Chrissy and Wes from the RockShow and it's just an awesome night out. The event is R-rated. We hope you'll save the date and join us.
