I know of several people who rushed down to United Blood Services to donate blood in wake of Sundays tragedy. The problem is, they aren't open on Sundays. I am begging you to please, remember the fire that was inside you Sunday and go make a donation today or this week.

There IS something you can do when there is a tragedy. You can donate blood. These victims will be using a lot and there is always a need. It won't be wasted and there is never "too much" on hand. Your blood will go to help these and other victims, babies who just need a teaspoonfuls, accident victims and people who just need surgery.

When you are giving blood, you are giving LIFE. Are you really so afraid of one needle stick that you wouldn't deal with that to save a life? Someone most likely has done it for you or someone in your family. It's time to step up and become a donor.

UBS's hours this week are:

Today 9-5

Tomorrow 12-6

Wednesday 9-5:30

Thursday 12-6

Friday 9-4:30

Saturday 9:230

Drop ins are always welcome but  you can call and make appointments at 797-6804

Please do this. It's one of the greatest statements you can make. And when you do it, "check in" on Facebook and let everyone you know that you stepped up for humanity.
