United States Customs and Border Protection always comes across bizarre ways to smuggle narcotics from Mexico into the U.S. This time a shipment of 3,947 pounds of marijuana was discovered inside of over 34,000 fake limes along the Texas-Mexico border.

The truck that hauled this mean, green 'produce' was pulled over after crossing the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge along the Texas-Mexico border. An imaging inspection system and narcotics K-9 team ultimately sniffed out the shipment estimated to be worth $789,467, according to the US Customs and Border Protection Statement.

Personally, if I saw a lime like that at Brookshire's or Walmart, I'd throw it right back into the pile.

There really is no shortage of creativity (or desperation depending on how you look at it) of how drugs are smuggled across the border.

Last year 2,439 pounds of pot stuffed in fake carrots were confiscated by CBP. And don't forget about them being stuffed in watermelon too!
