In October 2025, "a fill-in-the-blank" party game company Cards Against Humanity, and Elon Musk’s rocket company, SpaceX, quietly resolved a lawsuit over alleged trespassing on a parcel of land in Cameron County, Texas.

Background of the Dispute

Cards Against Humanity accused SpaceX of dumping gravel on its land, clearing native vegetation, and driving construction equipment through the area, according to Chron. The land was originally purchased by Cards Against Humanity with funds donated by fans of the game to make building a border wall in the area an expensive hassle. Fans who donated will receive a free mini-pack of cards in thanks for their support.

What We Know About The Settlement

Not that much, because part of the terms of the settlement include that Cards Against Humanity is "not allowed to discuss specific settlement terms." We do know that Cards Against Humanity did not pursue the lawsuit further (despite SpaceX having "confessed" to trespassing on the land) because the company felt it would be more expensive to follow through than to settle. Cards Against Humanity also stated that they are teaming up with a local landscaping company to restore the land to its native, natural state. \
