Coheed and Cambria Bassist Michael Todd Leaves Band Following Arrest

In the wake of his July arrest for allegedly robbing a Walgreens in Massachusetts, bassist Michael Todd has decided to leave Coheed and Cambria.

The move has been described by the band as a mutual decision.

“Michael was a great contributor; our hearts go out to his family and to all those who appreciate his talents,” the band said. “We wish him nothing but the very best.”

Wes Styles, who had been handling bass duties recently, will continue in that role for the band’s upcoming shows in South America and Mexico.

In the statement, Coheed and Cambria also took the opportunity to talk about upcoming projects.

“We are currently writing and recording songs for a new album, as well as a couple compilations this fall. We are very excited about how the songs are shaping up and can’t wait to share them with you.”
