Danzig Announces 2018 Halloween Tour, Will Be ‘Last Live Dates for a While’
Glenn Danzig and Halloween go together like Santa Claus and Christmas, so it only makes sense he would bring his namesake band out on the road to celebrate the holiday, playing seven shows on the brief tour which kicks off Oct. 24 in Portland, Ore. at Roseland and concludes Nov. 3 in Irvine, Calif. at FivePoint Amphitheatre. Don't sleep on this one either, as it looks like it will be some time before he comes around again according to a post on his official Facebook page.
The past several months have been busy ones for Danzig, as he released the 10th album under the Danzig moniker, Black Laden Crown, last May. A handful of dates followed, along with appearances at the 2017 Riot Fest, and he closed the year by fronting a handful of shows with the classic lineup of his first group, the Misfits, who reunited in 2016. This past May, the band performed their first East Coast show in 35 years at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
August will see the illustrated Hidden Lyrics Of The Left Hand Volume II, which will be available in local comic book stores, indie record shops and at the Verotik-World eBay store. It is the follow-up to the 2010 effort, which finally put in print all the lyrics to Danzig’s songs.
When Danzig performed at Riot Fest last September, the band played Danzig III: How the Gods Kill, in its entirety. The performance commemorated the 25th anniversary of the album's release, a feat he'll be repeating at this year's Psycho Las Vegas festival, set to take place August 17-19 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. He will also be doing a series of shows overseas. Check out all the tour dates here.
