Back in 1789, Benjamin Franklin wrote in a letter to Jean-Baptiste Leroy "In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." Unfortunately, Rex Brown, knows the feeling.USA Today is reporting that Brown owes Big Brother $449,567 in back taxes and penalties, that's a serious chunk of change, no matter who you are. Back in January, the Internal Revenue Service levied a fine of $210,157 here in the state of Texas.

If a payment plan isn't worked out soon, Brown could lose the royalties to his share of Pantera revenue, for songwriting credits.

Hopefully, he can use his share of the profits from the up-coming 20th annivesary reissue of the two-disc Deluxe edition of Pantera's "Vulgar Display Of Power" that's due on May 15th, to work it out with the federal government.

Like Margaret Mitchell penned in her classic 1936 novel "Gone with the Wind"... "Death, taxes and childbirth! There's never any convenient time for any of them."

Remember it's 4/17, the Taxman comes today!
