Greta Van Fleet Cancel Show, Drummer Unable to Hold Drumsticks Due To Injury
Greta Van Fleet have canceled their performance at New York's Panorama Festival due to an injury drummer Danny Wagner sustained that has rendered him unable to hold drumsticks. "Danny has been playing with injured fingers for the last two weeks, and they have not been able to heal properly," the band wrote in a statement earlier today (July 29). "It has now reached the point where he cannot pick up a drumstick because of it. Therefore, there is no possible way for us to play today."
They continued, "There's no greater joy than sharing music, and we are disappointed to miss time spent with you. We promise to make it up to our fans in NYC this year. However, it is our top priority for Danny to heal from this injury and be able to play for all of you soon." You can read the group's statement in full below.
Greta released their latest single, "When the Curtain Falls," earlier this month. Details about their debut full length have yet to surface, but in a recent interview with Loudwire bassist Sam Kiszka told us, "We had all these songs we wrote three to five years ago that we were just going to put on the album. It very quickly became all new material, so I’d say about three-quarters of the songs are songs we wrote in the studio. It just happened very quickly, we got everything done in two weeks. We were aching to make this album.”
