Henry Cavill as ‘Superman’ – First Official Look [PICTURE]

Any lingering doubts comic book fans might have had about the decision to cast Henry Cavill as Superman should be erased today once they feast their eyes on the first official photo from ‘Man of Steel,’ which shows the hunky Cavill donning the iconic leotard and cape.

Not much else is revealed in the photo; a serious-looking Cavill is simply shown standing before some type of beaten-down metal contraption. But based on the still alone, released Thursday by Warner Bros., Cavill looks more than comfortable in the famous role and appears to have beefed up for it.

Directed by Zack Snyder (’300′), ‘Man of Steel’ co-stars Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Christopher Meloni and the recently cast Laurence Fishburne as Perry White. It flies into theaters June 14, 2013.
