I have never liked the terms handicapped or disabled because both terms seem to overlook several things about the people they are supposed to describe.

The terms focus on aspects of a persons lack of ability to perform certain actions rather then focusing on the many other things they are capable of doing.

I prefer the term differently abled, because let's face it, we all have things we can't do.

Many people would consider this blind boy with autism to be handicapped, that is until they heard him sing.

This kid is differently abled in my book!
