A shakeup in the rules this week ended up being a huge part of the result of Sunday's race at Talladega, which was the third and final race of the second round of the Chase. Joey Logano broke out his broom and picked up his third win in a row.

NASCAR decided to do away with the three-chance Green-White-Checkered finish this week, instead only allowing one attempt. Sure enough a late caution with five to go subjected the field to that lone attempt, then during the first try at an attempt, a wreck in the middle of the pack caused the field to try the attempt again.

Joey Logano thought he'd won after the first wreck, as Jimmie Johnson did a nosedive into the infield grass.

The second attempt yielded an almost identical result, as another caution came out right as the green flag waved and the drivers officially hit the line. This wreck, however, was much bigger and NASCAR felt it best to end the race then.

At that point, Joey Logano was about a (hated) splitter in front of Dale Earnhardt Jr. heading into turn one. Logano clinched the victory and sweep, Dale Earnhardt had his postseason run dashed, and many fans were irate.

Either way, we're moving on to Martinsville, and the field of Chasers includes: Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr., Jeff Gordon, Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards, and both Kyle and Kurt Busch.
