The trip to Fort Worth this weekend was well worth it for many local Texans, as the race in Denton County was a shootout between Martin Truex, Jr. and Kyle Busch all race long.

My favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, looked very strong throughout the race, also leading along with Truex Jr. and Busch, yet his car had a faulty piece of equipment in the front left wheel housing of the car. It was disappointing to see him fall so far after putting in great work.

The race was in true Texas Motor Speedway style, with cars flying around the track at near-200 mph speeds, relentless competition and a good battle at the end.

We'll see what happens next week as the guys pay a visit to Kansas.
