My lady has been in Las Vegas all week and we were talking the other night and she was commenting on all of the street performers there.  After watching hundreds and hundreds of people walking up and down Freemont Street in Las Vegas and seeing all the street performers and "posers" she started wondering what kind of a living they made.

There was a guy dressed up as Capt'n Jack Sparrow that woody had noticed the first night, three days later he was there again (it was 10 a.m.). She stood and watched as several people walked passed him and waved or laughed a few stopped for pictures, but most just kept walking.

Later that night around 9 he was still there, smiling waving and posing for the occasional picture.

I told her to ask him about his job and here is what he said, he gets up everyday, puts on his costume and his makeup and basically walks up and down that street from about 9 a.m. until about 3 a.m. 5 to 6 days a week.

He said all the "performers" work for tips. That basically they show up out there in costume and pose for pictures with visitors in the hopes of making a few bucks from each one.

He could make up to $500.00 to $800.00 a night, on a slow day he might make $200.00-$300.00.

That's a pretty good chunk of change to be bringing in totally tax free just for dressing up as a character!

When I retire I am moving to Vegas and dressing up as Homer Simpson...
