Legendary Guitarist Ronnie Montrose Death Ruled A Suicide

The San Mateo County Coroner's Office report on Ronnie Montrose has confirmed the guitarist died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.The report released earlier this week also revealed that his blood-alcohol was four times the legal limit in California, and was 0.31% when he died.

In a family statement on RonnieMontrose.com reads: "By now, the devastating truth of Ronnie's death is public knowledge. We hope you can understand why we wanted to keep this news a private family matter
for as long as possible. We can only hope that you will choose to celebrate  Ronnie's life, and what his music meant to you, rather than mourn his passing. Ronnie would have wanted it that way.

Ronnie Montrose was one of my rock and roll idols; sometimes the demons that most everybody deal with get the best of even the strongest individuals.
