Mark Adams took the head coaching job at Texas Tech in early April and the national media all had one resounding question: "Can the JUCO dude even recruit?"

Well, fast forward to July and add pulling Terrence Shannon out of the NBA Draft and adding seven transfers from various levels including one of the best performers in last year's NCAA and I think those worries can safely be put to bed.

The latest addition, Kevin Obanor, only needed to say two words to announce his transfer to Texas Tech from Oral Roberts: "I'm home." Indeed he is.

I'm sure the Red Raiders staff made Lubbock feel like home, but it's also a homecoming for Obanor to come back to Texas after growing up in Houston. Obanor has two years of eligibility remaining, but after testing professional waters, I'd assume Obanor is here in Lubbock for a single glorious run.

Obanor is a 6'8" forward who averaged 18.7 and 9.6 rebounds per game at ORU last season. He made his final decision between the Red Raiders and Eric Musselman's Arkansas Razorbacks.

Arkansas beat both Oral Roberts and Texas Tech in the NCAA tournament last season, winning both games by two points. Obanor had 12 points and 11 boards against Arkansas after scoring 30 vs Ohio State. The ORU star averaged 23 and 11 in the NCAA tournament last season.

Obanor's a big man, but can score at all three levels. Last year, he shot 46.3 percent from the three-point line.
