It seems in recent weeks we have heard nothing but bad things about the guys from KISS, so this story is pretty freaking cool as a way to remind us "rock stars" are humans at the core of everything.Stanley was born with a condition know as Microtia. This is a "congenital deformity of the cartilage of the outer ear, and occurs in approximately 1 out of every 8,000 to 10,000 births." Stanley was diagnosed with what is known as a level 3 Microtia , he had "no ear canal and no direct path to the inner-workings of the ear. Except for bone conduction, I’m virtually deaf on my right side, as there is no access for sound to enter."

Two years ago Stanley had a a hearing aid implanted directly into his brain. When asked about his lack of hearing and if he felt and how he felt all those years not being able to hear Stanley says, "that's like asking a blind person about colors, it's hard to describe or miss something you never had."

Stanley now speaks to kids with this condition and encourages them to keep trying and to never give up on their dreams. He says now "hearing loss may be a small pothole in the road, but that doesn't mean it should stop you from getting where you want to go. I’m living proof!"
