Slayer have teamed up with Rick Ware Racing to roll out a rockin' race car emblazoned with the band's unmistakeable branding to be driven by Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series veteran, JJ Yeley.

Yeley will take the car out this Saturday (Aug. 17) at Tennessee's Bristol Motor Speedway during NASCAR's annual Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race. See the Slayer-themed race car down toward the bottom of this post.

"It's exciting and awesome that Rick and the boys are wearing the Slayer banner making us a part of NASCAR history!" Slayer's Tom Araya shared in a press release announcing the high-speed collaboration.

“NASCAR racing and Slayer have a lot in common," guitarist Kerry King added. "Both are extremely fast, intense and aggressive. I can think of nothing more rad than seeing the Slayer logo on Rick's car with JJ behind the wheel. I'm sure Disciples of everyone involved will be completely stoked on the bond between these two fierce entities!"

Yeley commented, "I am super pumped to have the legendary metal band, Slayer, on my Rick Ware Racing No. 54 Chevrolet for one of the greatest races of the year, the Bristol night race! Being able to showcase the legacy that Slayer has created over the past 40 years is a true honor."

Slayer aren't the only "Big Four" thrashers to put the pedal to the metal with a band-themed race car. Last month, NASCAR driver Tyler Reddick showed off his Megadeth-themed automobile.

In July, Slayer announced their last group of shows ever — the closing leg of "The Final Campaign" — after revealing in 2018 that the band's ongoing world tour would be their last. Get ticketing info here.
