Staind Guitarist Joins Forces With Jason Newsted

After Jason Newsted's departure from Metallica, we really didn't hear much from the bassist, but now he's put together a brand new band, brand new tunes, and now has a brand new guitarist.

Mike Mushok decided to use the spare time he has during Staind's break to get together with Jason Newsted's new band, simply named Newsted.

Newsted has released an EP also simply named "Metal". The four-song collection hit iTunes on the 8th of January and was released on CD a week later.

A full-length album is expected from the band with Mushok's new efforts probably around summer time, as the band hits Download Festival in June.
