Stone Sour Guitarist Jim Root To Sit Out Upcoming Tour

Yesterday I discussed the band's new tour scheduled to begin next month, including four dates here in Texas; however, news just broke today that lead guitarist Jim Root will be sitting the tour out. Find out why here.

Now, don't get discouraged -- for now.

Root is supposedly sitting out the tour to work on writing new material for Slipknot and start compiling things for the new album the band is trying to put together.

Obviously, there's no word on when a new album will be put together, but word is the band will be puzzling pieces together next year.

Guitarist Christian Martucci will fill in for Root for the tour.
