In a pre-televised ceremony today the award for the metal category was handed out to; are you ready, Jack Black and Kyle Gass; aka, Tenacious D for their cover of The Last in Line by Dio.

The 57th Grammy Awards took place Sunday night (Feb. 8), and the winners of most of the rock categories were announced during a pre-ceremony.

If you haven't heard, Twitter was ablaze during the Grammy's with kids trying to figure out who "Paul McCartney" was. The fact that one of the Beatles was rocking the show was completely beyond them. All they knew was that he was "hella-old". More after the jump.
