Since the announcement that James Hetfield had re-entered rehab for addiction treatment, there's been an outpouring of support for the Metallica frontman from his peers in the metal community. Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi is the latest to send his well wishes.

Metal's godfather shared a photo of him and Hetfield from what appears to be the early '90s, reassuring the frontman that he's "done the right thing seeking help. Read his full message below.

My best out to James Hetfield. You’ve done the right thing seeking help - I’m thinking of you my friend and wishing you all the very best on your recovery. Looking forward to seeing you back at your best very soon.

Your pal
Tony

As Hetfield seeks treatment, Metallica have postponed their tour dates in Australia and New Zealand, putting the "WorldWired" tour in support of 2016's HardWired... To Self-Destruct on pause for now.

Both Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta and Lamb of God's Randy Blythe expressed their support for the struggling rocker, crediting him for their sobriety.

For Jasta, it was meeting Papa Het at MTV where he opened up about his struggles with drinking, coming away thinking that if James Hetfield, "a guy who is in one of the biggest bands in the world with so much pressure on him and so much weight to carry," could do it then so could he.

Looking back almost nine years, Blythe said it was a tour with Metallica that got him back to clean living. After observing Blythe's hard-drinking throughout a European tour and knowing, he reached out to the Lamb of God singer, knowing he was trying to stop drinking. Hetfield proceeded to help coach Blythe through a sober month on the road alongside some other sober crew members.

We'd like to extend our continued support to James Hetfield on his road to recovery.
