The hatred some people feel towards gay people confuses me. Read on if you're straight enough.

Let's look at being gay and not liking gay people from a logical, but "right to the source" perspective.  It's my belief that most people do not like gay people for what they do sexually "behind closed doors".  I hope that's a fair enough opinion.  Now think of this, there's NOTHING that two men or two women are doing together that a lot of heterosexuals do to each other everyday (at least according to A LOT of the pornos I watch).  So here's my conclusion:  stay out of the bedroom when gay people are having sex if it bothers you. It's none of your business what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedroom. I don't want to think about two morbidly obese people having sex, so I don't. I don't want to think about two dudes getting it on, so I don't. And chances are very high that I don't want to think about YOU getting it on, so I don't.

Next on the list is the fear that a gay person is going to try to have sex with you. Trust me, gay people do not want to be with you. Gay people like gay people, just like straight people like straight people. They don't like kids or animals, they like other people like them.

How about, "gay people shouldn't raise kids"? My response is "straight people shouldn't raise kids". Here's a question to answer those questions, have you ever, ever, ever heard a story on the news about gay people abusing or otherwise hurting children in any way, shape or form? The answer is of course no, but yet there are stories of kids being abused by their parents all the time. No that I think about it, somebody needs to start a "gay nanny" service, because they obviously love children and treat them well.

Lastly, is the whole Bible thing. It's funny to me how people "pick and choose" what they want out of the Bible. The same passages that talk about men sleeping with men are also the ones that tell you not to eat lobster or sit on a chair after a women on her period has sat on it. There's also the passage that you can beat a slave as long as you don't beat it to death, and the passages about stoning people to death or whatever. Sorry, the Bible was a good way to raise and teach people a couple of thousand years ago, its relevance and teachings now have to be either interpreted for modern times, or discarded completely.

Its time we grow as people. It's time that we look at some issues scientifically. Gay people were born wired differently than me and you. Hating gay people makes as much sense as hating people with freckles. Life goes by quick, you probably have a gay relative who just wants to be accepted for who they are. Don't you think it's time to put away the hate?
