Why is This Lubbock Apartment Complex Home for So Many Kittens?
There are so many dang kittens in this one specific complex, but I'm not complaining.
The neighborhood I live in is already home to a lot of stray cats, so the sight of them isn't surprising to me. However, it was still a wonderful treat when I walked outside my front door and saw these little cuties sleeping with each other.
This isn't the first time I've seen a little family of kittens at my apartment, either.
Sometime about a year ago I was walking home late at night (sometime around 10 p.m.) when I saw 3 little dudes playing in the parking lot. Being the animal lover that I am, I sat down on the curb with some turkey and let them crawl all over me, probably getting some diseases in the process, but it was worth it. They were so cute.
Sadly it started raining a bit later, and after I came back out to scoop 'em up and put 'em in a box I couldn't find them. I still think about those little dudes. I hope they're okay...
So back to the question at hand: Why specifically is this apartment complex home to so many cat families?
It probably has something to do with the fact that one of my neighbors left out a bowl and beds for them, as you can see in the pictures above. At least my fellow tenants are kind to animals. I know people who would punt a kitten if given the opportunity.
As long as there is breath in my lungs, I will do all I can do protect all small little guys I find. They're too cute, man.
