IFC is starting a new cartoon series this Friday at 9:30. It's called "Out There" and it's from one of the former producers of South Park. I'm not completely getting it yet, but who knows, this could be the next big thing. What seems odd at first is that it's kind of like a generic sit-com thing, but for some reason "Chad" is a dog faced boy or something (and apparently he's not the only one). Check out a clip after the jump.

The new cartoon series "Out There" starts this Friday on IFC, right after Portlandia. Tune in at 9:30 central and see if you can't figure out what the hell is going on.  It seems mildly entertaining so far, but I still need some kind of explanation as to why some of the kids are 'hairfaced' and the step dad is a Native American or something.  I hope this isn't one of those shows that just does that stuff to be 'nutty' and offers no real explanation.

So in this clip Jason Swartzman lends his voice as the ice cream shops ladies man.
