First Humanoid Robot In Space

nasa.gov

The space shuttle has the coolest cargo ever.  Robonaut will be trained to do some jobs deemed to dangerous for humans, but have human like abilities and even use tools made for humans.  Here’s a quote from NASA:

Robonaut 2 or R2, will launch to the International Space Station on space shuttle Discovery as part of the STS-133 mission, it will become the first dexterous humanoid robot in space.

There are all kinds of cool plans for R2; he’ll have a leg to help him get around inside the weightless space station and will even have a dune buggy like bottom for roving around on the surface of planets.

I’m not a big space buff but this is pretty cool.  R2 will also be taking to Twitter to deliver updates on his mission.  For more on R2, click here.
