Who doesn't look forward to cracking open a cold beer with some of their best friends on a warm Friday night? The only thing I can think of that makes the idea of that even better is when it's a warm Friday night and there is a rock show in town.

Every band was spot on with ripping sets from We Are Riot, Three Years Hollow, Wayne Static (mercy what a show) and Saliva.

It was hard to tell if the heat inside Jake's Backroom was because of all the people packed in to the room of doom; it could have just been a typical West Texas spring night, but more likely than not it was the long anticipated return of the real boys from the south; Saliva.

I could tell even before the lights went down for the band to take the stage that the crowd was more than ready for the guys to be back in the Hub for their first show in nearly two years.

They opened the show with an old Saliva favorite "Black Sheep" and from there on the intensity of the show climbed to the perfect mix of classic tunes from the band, mingled with heavy hitting new stuff from the bands upcoming disc; "Rise Up" (out this Tuesday, April 29th).

From the first note all the way through to the last note of "Your Disease"  it was clear everyone was glad to see the return of the boys out of Memphis!

It was loud and plenty rude...
