This past Sunday Avatar opened the show for Rob Zombie and myself and Driver were right there to see first hand their opening slot.

Do you remember your first concert? Clayton definitely will. Not only did the young KFMX rocker choose a killer first show, but had the chance to meet Rob Zombie when he rocked Lubbock.

Sunday's not a typical day for a rock show, but thousands still braved the rain and swarmed Lubbock's Lonestar Amphitheater to see Rob Zombie, Avatar and Murder FM tear it up.

Rob Zombie brings a sinister three-ring rock 'n roll circus to the Hub City this Sunday night at the Lonestar Event Center. Joining Rob under the big top will be those cool Swedish metal dudes: Avatar, and a kicking band out of Halloween Town, TX. Murder FM.

I know we are all stoked for Rob Zombie this Sunday, but I know that I am very stoked to see the return of Avatar when they open the show and will set the tone for what will be a epic rock show!

This is the 14th set of photos from the 2014 KFMX Big Purple Party on May 25, at the Lone Star Amphitheater and Pavilion. This group includes Avatar Concert photos, and of course a few more crowd shots. We had an unexpected addition to the lineup that played in the Pavillion after our headliner (Deftones).
