Fifty eight years have passed since Buddy Holly died in a tragic plane crash in Iowa. Lubbock's Buddy Holly Center is planning a day of events to honor the singer.

It is rough in the streets in Lubbock. The football team is stumblin', three Texas Tech fraternities have been suspended (the last for some real rape-y behavior) and the whole place is currently a mud pit. With all those nonsense making headlines, it's good to see a positive spotlight on the town.
