Sam Loeffler is a bit of anomaly, he's the spokesman for his band.  Trust me, we don't get very many drummers who are entrusted with basically a bands entire reputation.  Sam is a great fit at the job though, he's engaging, funny and honest almost to a fault.   More after the jump.

Yes, it will indeed be the greatest weekend of live music EVER in Lubbock Texas. Through a quirk in booking, the FMX Birthday Bash and X-Fest 9 will be on two consecutive days. We get started with our 31st celebration on 4/20 (appropriate right?) then continue on 4/21. Are you ready to see the entire lineup? Here ya go!

Here in the last six months a lot musicians have been out spoken about illegal downloading including  Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God and Mark Hunter of Chimaira. Now Pete Loeffler of Chevelle is speaking out on illegal downloading.

The Illinois-based band sold 43,000 copies of "Hats Off To The Bull" in its first week of release, which began on December 8.

The Lubbock favorites have announced the title of the sixth studio album due this Winter.

I don't even know when the guys from Chevelle had time to record a new record.  I thought they were going to do this tour with Bush and Filter then do an album. Evidently they were sneaking away and recording new tracks all along.

Back in the day, the release of a concert album used to be a sure sign that a band was not going to be putting out a new studio effort anytime soon. Chevelle fans can rest easy, however. Even though the Chicago-bred group released the live collection ‘Any Last Words’ in the spring, a new studio disc is on the way, just in time for the year-end holiday season.

Chevelle announced on Facebook the other day that a brand new album should be out in early December. The first single called "Face To The Floor" will hit radio October 10th.
