Nightmare on 19th Street isn't just the scariest haunted attraction in Texas. One day each year it throws open the gates a little early for young kids to spend some time with their families in costume and score some free candy before Halloween.

The RockShow had a thought a while back. That thought was "kids don't get a great Halloween like we used to". With that thought, we started "Nightmare Little Kids Trick Or Treat".  The concept and event are simple. We gather a few sponsors, put away the really scary stuff at Nightmare and set up "stations" for the kids to Trick Or Treat at.

The marching band from Coronado High School dressed like the undead and shambled over to Nightmare on 19th Street this weekend to scare up a little fun.

We've got a heck of a lineup tonight at Nightmare On 19th Street. We've got a bit of an old fashioned sideshow and more zombies than a season of the Walking Dead!

We strapped a GoPro to a Nightmare on 19th Street actor wielding a chainsaw and gave him one simple task: scare as many people as possible.

Nightmare On 19th Street expands to Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday nights this week (with reduced admission on Thursdays and Sundays). We thought this would be a good opportunity to show you where we came from.

Nightmare On 19th Street returns for it's 8th year! We feature four haunted areas, our somewhat "traditional" haunted house "Blood Moon Manor", a visit through graveyards to the home of deranged hillbillies and ghosts of the old west in "Skulllick Texas", a trip through ancient cultures (and now marauding pirates) in "The Lost City", finishing up in a 3-D ad

This week marked the official first week of fall 2014, and here in Lubbock there are a few things that signal the changing seasons more clearly than the calendar or the falling leaves. All one has to do is look towards East 19th street and they will see the lights from the fair grounds and hear the screams rising from the back of the Lone Star Amphitheater.

Who's ready for some scares? The fun thing about scares is you always laugh after you get scared. It makes for a hilarious emotional roller-coaster. It's pure fun and we do it pretty hardcore! That's what Nightmare on 19th Street is all about.

Nightmare On 19th Street Opens for it's 8th Big Year next Friday and Saturday night.  We call these "preview nights' because they fall in September and really for no other reason. The ghouls are more than ready for you.

You may not know it, but we have the coolest tees at Nightmare on 19th Street. Hey, it's not just self-serving stuff either. Our t-shirt vendor puts out some really, really cool horror inspired designs. She's released the first batch of graphics to me for you to check out.

I guess you've noticed that Halloween stuff is already making it's way into stores.  From crafts to full on decorations, the isles are filling up with cool stuff.  I took a moment to look at my countdown clock and this ran a chill down my spine: it's only 50 days until the first of two "Preview Nights" at Nightmare On 19th Street.
