This week marked the official first week of fall 2014, and here in Lubbock there are a few things that signal the changing seasons more clearly than the calendar or the falling leaves. All one has to do is look towards East 19th street and they will see the lights from the fair grounds and hear the screams rising from the back of the Lone Star Amphitheater.

This weekend as the fair begins to wind down; the screams rising from Nightmare on 19th Street are just beginning.

Tonight, Woody and I made our annual opening night trek to be among the first to brave the best haunted attraction this side of the Mississippi. And once again in true rock star fashion (as in years past) I "allowed" Woody to go before me... you know to protect her from things creeping up behind her, not because I am scared (like she thinks); but because I am a gentleman like that.

This year they have changed things up a bit and added a completely new pirate attraction that will seriously leave you believing you can feel the spray of the ocean on your face as a giant see monster rises from the deep.

Just when you think you've experienced the last haunt you find yourself entering the incredible Twisted Tales 3D (the vortex tunnel is sure to be a big hit) where you will see all your favorite fairy tales come to life or death in a very creepy 3D experience you won't soon forget.

Friends don't let friends miss out on a screaming good time. So gather your friends and head east on 19th and face all the things that go bump in the night.

Get all the details here.

Shout out to a few of the actors who went above and beyond. Pirate Peezee and Franky, and the beautiful cauldron cooking River...well done.
