Halloween is just around the corner and the decorations are out!

I love that Halloween is becoming even more mainstream. When I was a kid the best we could really hope for was one of those paper skeletons on someone's door. Seriously, I think that was the only mass-market Halloween decoration other than orange and black streamers (I now feel like I missed out on so much).

These days inflatables seem to be where it's at. It's a good way to get a lot of decorating done for a (somewhat) minimal out of money.  Some even have built-in animatronic motions. Then there are the oversized skeletons, along with a few monsters that have been popularized.

Texans recently came in #4 in the U.S. when it comes to Halloween decorating (I'm so proud). What's surprising is what the most popular Halloween decoration is, in Texas. Could it be a stack of Texas pumpkins? Maybe a cackling witch? Nope, according to the poll by Lombardo Homes, the most popular Halloween decoration in Texas is Clowns.

Now I presume these are "Evil Clowns" because I don't think anyone would decorate with nice clowns, hobo clowns, or the Insane Clown Posse.  It just seems odd as heck for a state that once feared "creepy clowns" to have such a clown obsession (then again, it kind of makes sense at the same time).

While we're here, let's talk about some of our neighbors. In New Mexico, the top choice was "Spider", while Oklahoma likes to search for "Mummy". Yes, this poll was conducted using Google Search results, so there's a lot of truth in it. Just get ready for a lot of (again, presumably Evil)  Clowns on Halloween Night.
