Here we are with another edition of "The Real Five". This edition was put together the morning after the death of lead singer Scott Weiland who died December 3rd 2015.

"The Real Five" represents the five most played tracks by an artist on active rock radio as of the date it was posted.  With that in mind, here's your top five tracks from Stone Temple Pilots.  The tracks are part of the video playlist above, give it a click as you read along.

1. Interstate Love Song. It's hard to believe the record company hung onto this one for so long. STP's biggest hit was actually the 3rd of four singles from the bands 1994 "Purple" album.

2. Plush. Maybe there's a pattern here. Plush was actually the 4th track released from the bands debut album "Core". It didn't see the light of day until the album had already been out nearly a year.

3. Wicked Garden. Wicked Garden was the 5th track released from 1992's "Core".  The actual order of singles was Sex Type Thing, Dead & Bloated, Crackerman, Plush, Wicked Garden, then finally Creep.

4. Vasoline. This was supposed to be the lead track off of 1994's Purple album. What happened though, is the band submitted "Big Empty" for the Crow soundtrack and it became so big that it became the unofficial first single for the album.

5. Sex Type Thing. As mentioned above, this was the first track released from Core and it left the band on somewhat shaky ground. With this track only going to an anemic #23 at the time and the next two pretty much flopping, things were looking grim for STP until the other tracks from the album took off. In retrospect fans decided this WAS one of STP's top tracks and thus it's place as number 5 on this list.

For the curious, the rest of the top ten went like this:

6. Big Empty

7. Dead And Bloated

8. Creep

9. Tripping On A Hole In A Paper Heart

10. Unglued
