17 Pets Rescued From Hellish Nightmare Need New Homes in Lubbock
LUBBOCK, Texas- If your kid has been begging for a family pet, consider fostering one of the 16 dogs and a cat rescued from horrible conditions at a home near 42nd and Utica earlier this week. The poor animals were found crammed into a couple of crates, outside in the heat, with zero access to food or water.
Sometimes, I just hate humans. This is one of those times.
Taylor Ruggles, Assistant Director of Lubbock Animal Services, stated that the animals were discovered in "critical and imminent danger," severely emaciated and covered in fleas, ticks, and feces. Ruggles emphasized that had they remained in those conditions any longer, they likely would not have survived.
This is the part where YOU come in.
Lubbock Animal Services desperately needs medical fosters to take care of the animals while they wait for a hearing to decide what will happen with all of them. If things were as bad as they have been described, I'm willing to bet they won't be going back home to be subjected to further abuse.
Is fostering right for you?
Fostering a pet isn't very expensive at all. Lubbock Animal Services only expects the foster parents to take care of food for the animal, however, they have a food bank available too. They will also provide all of the medical care for the injured animals for free. All you have to do is feed them and love them. Pretty easy. That's like...the most fun thing about having a pet! Snuggling up, feeding them treats, and showing them love.
These 17 animals have clearly been lacking in the love department and would adore sharing your cozy king-size bed, playing fetch, cuddling, and enjoying an occasional toilet drink at your place for a few weeks. You could be the one to mend their broken spirit and give them the life they deserve.
