After a two-plus-year investigation, an arrest has been made in connection with a cold case in Lubbock.

Henry "Joby" Anderson was 22 years old in December of 2015 when he was fatally shot in the 2000 block of Cedar Avenue in Lubbock. The prime suspect in the case, Isaias Cabello, has been on the run since.

On Tuesday (April 24), Cabello was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is awaiting extradition back to Lubbock to be arraigned on the murder charge against him.

An investigator on the case, Thomas Bonds, released a statement concerning the case:

This arrest today was a culmination of two years’ worth of relentless work from various local, state and federal agencies. I was able to work with some of the best law enforcement officers in the world. I would like to personally thank United States Marshal J. Pennington for all of his hard work. His work is second to none and was pivotal in this arrest. I was also like to thank all the members of the North Texas Fugitive Task Force – Team Foxtrot which includes members of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office and the Lubbock Police Department, Chief Barry Romans and the Burlington Colorado Police Department, the Colorado Springs Police Department, The Prower’s County Colorado Sheriff’s Office, and numerous officers, detectives, and supervisors with the Lubbock Police Department. I hope this will bring Henry “Joby” Anderson Jr’s family one step closer to closure.

Throughout the investigation, officials from the Lubbock Police Department Detectives and the U.S. Marshals Service North Texas Fugitive Task Force Team Foxtrot contributed to the capture of Cabello.
