Online scams have grown exponentially in recent years, and it's important to remember to be smart when dealing with online and over-the-phone transactions.
Here are some ways to keep yourself safe from scammers:
1. Always be skeptical of unsolicited phone calls, emails, and text messages.
2. Avoid clicking links, attachments, texts, and messages from unknown sources.
3. Use unique and strong passwords.
4. Watch out for phishing scams and don't give out personal details to unknown sources who put pressure on you with a sense of "urgency".
5. If it's too good to be true, it's probably a scam.
6. Do some research before you make an online payment.
7. Keep software updated
8. Use caution on social media.
9. Be SUPER careful with online investment and crypto.
10. Always trust your instincts. If it feels off, it probably is. Listen to your brain!
